Houston is a huge city, and there are so many locations to have a birthday party. The costs quickly add up so it's always fun to find a place that doesn't have a hefty booking fee. The HPD Mounted Patrol Facility offers free birthday parties in Houston. If you're interested in doing a party there, you should call ahead of time because they book up fast. I couldn't decide where to hold my daughter's second birthday. We went to the HPD Mounted Patrol facility for a tour, and I took a few videos of a horse doing tricks. After the tour, my daughter repeatedly asked to watch the video. Her language was somewhat limited, but she walked around saying "neigh, neigh" continually. All of a sudden, I knew the perfect party location. My horse loving daughter would have her party at a place filled with her favorite animal, horses. I called Office Dallas and found out that you could book a birthday party there. Birthday parties are free, but they welcome donations. There are 42 horses housed at the HPD facility. Before the tour, the group meets in a conference room for a chat. The police officers will tell you about the horses, answer questions, and teach you the safest way to feed the horses. During the tour, the group walks around the barn to feed the hoses. The horses can eat carrots (whole), apples (quartered), and peppermints (removed from their wrappers). If you're lucky, you might be able to see a horse do a few tricks. We watched a horse jump up, make funny faces, walk backwards, and tap his foot to count his age. During my daughter's birthday party, we played a few games such as horseshoes, ring toss, lasso the horse, etc. I painted several boxes that served as our photo booth. I provided each child a bag of carrots to feed the horses. We enjoyed snacks and cupcakes in the conference room. One of the horses showed us some of his tricks. The HPD Mounted facility is an awesome venue for a party. Your guests are guaranteed to have a blast. I loved this party because it was something different.
