Sam Houston Boat Tour
Did you know that you can take a free tour of the Houston Ship Channel?
To book a tour, you make a reservation online. You are required to list the names of each guest during your online reservation, and the system will allow you to book up to forty-five spots. Adults are required to show an I.D. on the tour. Click here to make a reservation or check available dates.
The tours run at 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday. On Sunday, there is a 2:30 p.m. tour. The boat cruises through the Port of Houston for ninety minutes. The tour is free, and you must book your reservation within 24 hours of the tour. The seats are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. They provide a complimentary drink half way through the trip.
If your child is into transportation, he/she will love this tour. On the way to the tour, you'll see several railroad tracks and trains. The boat ride is a big hit. During the cruise, you'll see lots of cranes, diggers, and construction vehicles at work.
The tour is a fun, learning experience for all ages including kids and adults. We have taken the tour several times, and my kids are asking to do it again. This is a neat outing for your family, play group, out of town guests, etc.
