Houston is a big city, and it's full of events and activities for the entire family. I've compiled a list of things for you and your family to enjoy this week and this weekend.  Kid Fun is the place to go to find fun family activities in Houston along with free activities for kids.  There are lots of Houston events taking place right now. You should definitely be able to find something to do with babies, toddlers, children, and older kids.  I hope that you enjoy the list full of cheap things to do, fun things to do, and free things to do. Things to do in Houston this week:

  1.  You can watch James & the Giant Peach for FREE at the Miller Outdoor Theater on Friday at 11am, Friday at 8:15 pm, and Saturday at 8:15 pm. Click here 2.  Little Women is playing at the A.D. Players Theater from June 1 - July 10.  The shows are Thursday to Sunday evenings - Click here. 3.  Discovery Green is offering lots of free events on Friday and Saturday.  On Friday, there will be Screen on the Green - Jurassic Park.  On Saturday, there will be free classes for kids, kayak rides, stand up paddling, etc. Click here. 4.  The zoo is offering Cool Nights every Friday through the summer.  The zoo will stay open an extra hour on these cool nights, and there are themes for each night.  The June 10 theme is Snowin' in the South, and the event is from 5-8pm.  The zoo will close at 8:30 p.m.  Click here. 5.  You can join the zoo's World Ocean Day from 9am-3pm on Saturday.  There will be activity tables, talks with the keepers, etc.  Click here. 6.  Lowe's is hosting free Build and Grow workshops on Saturday, June 11 at 10:00 a.m.  Click here. 7.  Members of the Children's Museum can enter early on Saturday from 9am-10am.  Click here. 8.  The Museum of Fine Art offers Sunday Family Zone + Studio Sunday from 1-4pm.  Click here. 9.  The Noah's Ark Pool at the Quillian Center is open for the summer.  They are open from May 30 to August 19 from 10am to 4pm during the week.  They are also open on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.    Click here. 10.  The Ninja Turtles will appear at the Children's Museum on Saturday from 10am to 5pm.  Click here. 11.  The Carnival Houston Parade and Festival is taking place on Saturday from 12pm to 8pm.  The parade is from 1-3pm.  You will be able to enjoy a variety of music celebrating diverse cultures.  Click here. 12.  You can celebrate the Shake, Rattle, and Roll event taking place on Saturday and Sunday in Pearland.  The FREE two day event features lives music, food trucks, vendors, a classic car show, and oldie movies.  Click here. 13.  Head on over to the Sugar Land Town Square for the Snapology Event on Saturday from 6-10pm.  The Movie Under the Moon is Inside Out, and it's playing at 8pm.  There will also be games and other activities.  Click here. 14.  You can see the crocs after dark at the Crocodile Encounter.  They are offering a special tour at 7pm on Saturday.  Click here.

(Westheimer/Fondren, Kirby, and Meyerland) Idea Lab - The Idea Lab offers hand-on classes, camps, and birthday parties. Hunter Dance Center - The Hunter Dance Center offers summer camps, children's classes, adult classes, birthday parties, and lots more.
